    About Georgina Purple

  ERYT (Registered with Yoga Alliance)
  Anusara-Inspired
Yoga Teacher™
  Certified Thai Yoga Therapist

GeorginaGeorgina Purple comes from a background of sports and martial arts. In 1998 she started taking hatha yoga and then was introduced to Anusara Yoga®. In 2001 she took teacher training and has been teaching steadily ever since. Her main influence has been Anusara Yoga®, but she's broadening her horizons every day.

She has over 600 hours of training as a yoga teacher in biomechanics, therapeutics, anatomy, Rajanica Tantric philosophy, restorative yoga, and much more. She is also certified in Thai Yoga Therapy, the ancient art of healing with the hands. Her main focus is in therapeutics and helping people realign and reconnect to their bodies. This alignment leads to freedom from pain and increased happiness. She strives to leave you with a better understanding of your body.

The strength of her community has made her a better teacher. As a teacher, she treats everyone as the unique and special beings that they are and she makes sure everyone is safe. She teaches to everyone’s ability, and gives them incredible amounts of encouragement to know they have such great potential. As she shares her own journey with her students, it gives them a feeling of equality. As her teaching style can be very challenging, she asks that you come with an open mind, and ready to change your body, mind and spirit.

Georgina teaches public classes in a variety of different locations, and hopes to expand that. If she is called to sub a class, she sends out a brief note. If you would like to be notified, please join the mailing list.

Please see the Class Information page for times and locations.
